save the world

one little bit at a time

after sandblasting and powder coating

before sandblasting and powder coating

When I was young we wanted to save the whales. I was on a crusade to spread the word by writing “save the whales" on my pencil case, ruler an occasional desk, and even my arm. My actions alone were unlikely to have saved an animal but looking back I can see I was part of a movement far greater than I realised. I had absorbed the idea from somewhere and maybe others absorbed it from me. Along the way, the whales were saved.

Now Im working on saving the world & have started with my own little space and choices. Ive been a long-time recycler, reuser, renovator, repurposer which takes effort.

Effort to recycle properly, to separate soft plastics, wash containers, take them to the appropriate places and consciously reduce landfill. And that's just for starters.

At FYTLY we've sandblasted and powder-coated equipment that was rusting and wearing out, our flooring is made from recycled car tyres and our stretching mats are cork. We are powered by the sun and fed by the rain.

Saving the world will take effort but then again so do all good things.
